Thanks to all who were able to attend today’s meeting, which started with a presentation by three Seattle AOF students who attended the NAF Gala on February 24 in New York. It was obvious all three thought it was an invaluable experience — from learning how to present themselves, to
networking, to dressing for success. They also did a tremendous job representing the Seattle Academies and were the only group of students from outside the greater New York area to attend. HUGE thanks to Chris Brandmeir and Joanne for coordinating!

Other topics included:
- Discussion of mock interview experience. Low participation this year and a high number of student no-shows to interviews.
- SAF Social scheduled for May 2 @ Lina’s [see Joanne for details].
- SAF Luncheon & Fundraiser on Holland America scheduled for May 29. Committee members needed – submit your names to Joanne.
- Case competition is in FULL SWING thanks to Jessica and Kim. Watch out for details coming in a message from Joanne about logistics and timing.
- Raffle payoff breakfast coming up on May 8. Since the Convention Center already provides a continental breakfast for the undeserving winners we threw around a few ideas to supplement, including renting a coffee cart, bringing quiche, or making smoothies. Any other ideas?
- Internships: only five secured to date, still working/hoping for more.
- Discussed concept of developing an “expectations” document for incoming academies students as a way to increase levels of committment in the program as well as inform parents. Joanne has an example and Dave is going to ping Charlie Katz for intel.
